Keep it simple. There is too much clutter on most web sites, making them difficult to use. This unnecessary confusion gets in the way of the message web site owners are trying to convey to customers. My practice, on the other hand, is to create easy-to-use interfaces and fast-loading web pages without sacrificing visual style and sophistication.

about Lance

I, Lance B. Willett , am a web designer and developer whose passion is to make the web a better place, on both a personal and professional level. I have built web sites for a variety of organizations and individuals both as a freelancer and as a full-time employee for companies.

Most recently my work has been in consulting with organizations on how to move a web site from table-based presentational HTML to CSS, XHTML, and other web standards technologies. Other recent consulting and teaching opportunities for me involved accessibility, usability, language localization, and content management solutions.

I am active in the web standards community, and enjoy teaching and training others in best practices for building standards-based web sites. I taught my first web standards “crash-course” involving three web professionals that wanted to learn how to apply standards to their work. I hope to continue promoting the use of web standards both through simpledream web studio’s projects and through helping other web designers and developers understand and use web standards in their work.
